Top finalists in the 2010 Eco Design Competition have the exciting opportunity to participate in the Fresh Talent Workshop! Promising and experienced designers from South Africa and Sweden meet to collaborate in the exploration of design applications to create a sustainable future.

The Fresh Talent Workshop, a five-day learning partnership experience will take place in Cape Town 28 February – 4 March 2011.

This event will be facilitated by Jenny Nordberg & Petra Lilja of Apokalyps Labotek, Paula Kermfors & Kajsa Cappelen Holst of Righteous Fashion, Maria Gustavsson, the Swedish Ninja and Liv Anderson, an industrial designer and lifecycle expert from Sweden.

The group participating in the Fresh Talent Workshop will be challenged to rework the space for a youth centre in a township just outside of Cape Town, using  a “lucky packet” of materials and resources kindly provided by sponsors and suppliers.  This assignment is an embodiment of the Eco Design Initiative’s mission to Shape the Future.

The South African Fresh Talent participants will be announced after the short listing for the No Kak! Eco Design Competition 2010.
